Top upcoming electric cars;

Monday, May 23rd, 2011

There are a number of high quality electric cars that will be coming out over the next few years. The Chevy Volt is an electric/gasoline vehicle that has already been released, and the Chevy Traverse for sale is not an electric car but is another quality Chevy model. There are very few used electric cars right now on the market because they are so new, but there are a number of non-electric used cars for sale Brandon. Mitsubishi, Toyota, Ford, Chevy, Nissan, and many other automakers will be releasing electric models over the next few years. Even luxury automakers like BMW, whose latest California BMW models have been in high demand, will be releasing electric vehicles over the next few years.

Mitsubishi will be releasing the iMiEV electric car in the United States. This is a small and lightweight four seater that has been released in Japan already for four years, but there are select U.S. markets that this model will be released in. The car uses a 16 kWh battery instead of a more expensive 24 kWh battery which allows it to be more affordable, and this is possible due to the vehicles light weight. The vehicle can reach speeds of up to 80 mph and has a range of 85 miles. It can also be charged in 6 to 7 hours using a 220 V / 15 amp charging station, while on a residential outlet it will take 14 hours.

The new U.S. vehicle will have a number of safety features and will likely be a big hit in larger cities where commute distances are not so greater. The Nissan Leaf has also already been released to select U.S. markets, but only in very small numbers. The Leaf will be much more available in 2011 and 2012 and is one of the few pure electric models on the market. The Leaf is a 5 door hatchback that can seat up to 5 people and also offers a very good range of 100 miles per charge with speeds of up to 90 mph. The Ford Focus electric is another upcoming electric vehicle that will be released later this year after Ford releases the Transit Connect minivans.

Honda Earns #1 Ranking for “Greenest Vehicles of 2011″

Monday, February 21st, 2011

Honda has earned a number 1 ranking for the “Greenest Vehicles of 2011” from the American Counsel for an Energy Efficient Economy. 5 Honda vehicles earned recognition for their minimal impact on the environment compared to other models and their vehicle economy, and these vehicles can be purchased from Middletown Honda Dealers. The ACEEE ranks environmentally friendly vehicles annually and the models that were considered included the Civic GX, Civic Hybrid, and Insight. These models were included as well in the ranking for the “12 most environmentally responsible vehicles available to the public.” These models among other Honda models can be purchased from Austin Honda Dealers.

Also check California Subaru Dealers for high quality fuel efficient models. The system used to measure the impact on the environment of the vehicles considered includes measures of fuel economy, emissions, health related pollution impact, global warming impact, and other factors. The vehicles are given a “Green Score” and the top ranking vehicles are ranked based on segment. The Civic GX is a zero emissions model available to the public and runs on compressed natural gas.  The Civic GX has been rated as the “Greenest Vehicle of the Year” from the years of 2004 to 2011 and is rated ahead of the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt, which are two popular plug in electric vehicles.

What is even more impressive is that the GX is the cleanest burning internal combustion engine on the planet and does not utilize electric vehicle technology for its zero emissions rating. The model features compressed natural gas fuel technology and runs exclusively on this fuel. As a result the GX must be refueled at home. Honda will be expanding the availability of the GX to 50 states as it becomes more popular and affordable. Other models that made the list for Honda include the Honda Civic Hybrid which has a fuel economy of 40 mpg in the city and the Honda Insight.

MPG, Emissions, and the Environment: Decisions, Decisions

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

You are likely to find several used hybrids at Bradenton used cars, perhaps a Prius or Civic Hybrid. You could probably find some VW deals on their Golf TDI diesel sporty compact. Or visit New York Nissan in hopes of finding their electric Nissan Leaf or settle for a run of the mill 4-cylinder Sentra. Whatever vehicle you end up purchasing, one main concern for all consumers is fuel efficiency. The big fuel tank icon on the window sticker makes it impossible to not notice. With gas prices forever increasing, threats of global warming, and the fact that we all want to save a dollar when we can, consumers are more concerned with fuel efficiency and environmental impacts now more than ever. For right now, we are faced with three prominent choices; hybrids, diesel, and traditional gasoline.

The fuel economy numbers printed on the window sticker may be misleading. Most drivers average less than what is printed, by about 25% less. The EPA fuel economy numbers printed are estimates and those numbers are generated based upon laboratory testing. Sadly, laboratory studies don’t take into account actual driving conditions that impact fuel usage. Air conditioning, heat and defrost, weather, driver styles, and road conditions can all affect actual fuel economy and are not recreated in the laboratory for the mileage estimates. This process applies to all vehicles and serves mainly as a way to compare different models; your actual results may vary.

Hybrids are often higher in cost than their non-hybrid version. Something to consider is that these vehicles will often come with a tax credit incentive, which can help ease the financial burden on the consumer. Hybrids can be tricky for mechanical work and it is advised that owners take their vehicle to the professionals at the dealerships who have been specifically trained for the hybrid design.

The price of diesel does not fluctuate as often as regular fuel, but the price per gallon is often not what you might think. For the longest time it was the cheapest fuel around but when gas prices were at their highest above $4, diesel remained the highest price even once regular fuel prices returned to normal. Diesel fuel is more efficient and can result in higher fuel economy and higher torque and engine power. Diesel burns clean but is not always available at all gas stations.

The Ford Kuga. A Super Cool Crossover.

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

The Ford Kuga is a compact, five-seat crossover designed by Englishman Martin Smith, who left General Motors to join Ford in early 2004. He and his team created an aerodynamic yet extroverted skin, which is accentuated by available wheels as large as nineteen inches. Stylish and fashionable, the new crossover from Ford of Europe is about the same length as a Ford Escape, but it sits astride a 2.8-inch-longer wheelbase.  Where the Kuga is a new car, it is probable that you will not be able to find a used one on the lots.  But if you want to look, you can look anywhere that has Charlotte used cars.

Some compare the Kuga to the Pontiac Solstice which has been available since 2006.  The Pontiac Solstice is a two-door; two-passenger convertible powered by a twin-cam, four-valve-per-cylinder 177 horsepower 2.4L ECOTEC I4 engine matched with Variable Valve Timing for enhanced engine performance. The Solstice GXP model is fitted with 260 horsepower 2.0L Turbo ECOTEC I4 direct fuel engine. You can service your Solstice at any Pontiac service dealer.

Back to the Kuga.  The interior is unlike anything sold in a U.S. Ford in its design. Its more rounded and enveloping, with nary a hint of truck-based inspiration. Ford says that it is appointed with plenty of gloss finishes and leather trim pieces — the center console appears leather wrapped and the seats are upholstered in a two-tone cloth/leather mix.

The Kuga buyer’s most significant option, though, is all-wheel drive. Ford chose a progressively variable AWD system that employs a Haldex clutch to distribute the forces between the axles. A brake-operated virtual limited-slip differential optimizes the side-to-side torque flow.

The Ford Kuga is a super-cool crossover that will have its drivers jumping in to drive every chance they get.

First Buyers of Chevy Volt May Get Free Home Charging Stations

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

The U.S. Department of Energy released a statement today stating that buyers of the 2011 Chevy Volt will be eligible for a free 240-volt home charger.   The 2011 Chevy Volt which hits the market later this year can be found at Jersey City Chevrolet and other local dealers.  Used Chevy models can be shopped for at NH used car dealers.  In some cases buyers will be offered free home installation along with the free charger.

The project is a study that is partially designed to help car owners who purchase hybrids reduce their carbon emission and save money.  But, the main purpose of the project is to study what the energy requirements of a hybrid vehicle are going to look like.  The government also hopes to encourage consumers to purchase energy efficient vehicles like the Chevy Volt.

Approximately 15,000 240-volt home chargers will be installed throughout the country.  The chargers are manufactured by ECOtality which will produce 2,600 chargers and Coulomb Technologies which will produce 4,440 home chargers.   The chargers are only available to those who are willing to share data on from their charger with the Department of Energy.

The Chevy Volt is capable of recharging on a standard residential 120-volt electrical outlet overnight.  The first 40 miles of the Volt can be driven on battery power exclusively.  The Volt can also drive up to 350 miles without having to refuel or recharge.  The Volt has a lithium-ion battery.  Once the battery is depleted, the volt switches to gasoline power and can travel up to around 300 miles longer.

The move is certain to boost Chevy Volt sales and also provide a convenient free feature for Volt owners.  The cost for the 240-volt charger is around $2,000.  Other manufacturers such as Nissan which features the Leaf and Ford which features the Fusion are working with ECOtality and Coulomb respectively to bring home chargers to vehicle owners.

How You Can Make Miles of Green!

Green carAs most may know, the globe has been suffering from some severe environmental effects that have been theorized to be directed from our inhabitance on earth. After hearing of this many Americans have found ways to take action and be more mindful of their day-to-day activities. Most have even taken it as far as to what they wear, eat, even drive….

Even big automotive CEO’s have taken the initative to commit to a greener earth in their designs to introduce popular electric cars and hybrids such as the 2009 Ford Escape, and many other Cincinnati Ford hybrid and Cincinnati Ford deals like the 2011 Ford Ranger.

The following are 10 easy steps to take in order to help your car go green:

1) Drive a Hybrid or a Clean Diesel.

2) Take it Easy with Engines and Options.

3) Cut back on some Cylinders.

4) Emit Less.

5) Buy Small.

6) Consider What’s Under the Hood.

7) Keep Up With Your Tires.

8 ) Choose A Quicker Route.

9) Buy A Green Car!

10) Get a Car From a Green Factory!

The Electric Car, an Electric Idea.

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Zap Alias Electric GuitarElectric cars have not exactly been the most popular thing on the road due to the well-known knowledge of electric cars usually only being accessibly to two types of speeds. The original 25 miles per hour, and then the upgraded 45 miles per hour that is purely run off of electric charge.

Of course the electric car isn’t the most popular as the products offered at Indianapolis Honda, Doug Henry Chevy Dealer, or Cincinnati Ford Dealer Specials. Yet contrary to these cars the electric car helps to aid in the efforts of ending dependence on foreign oil, decreasing emissions, and reducing pollution smog that has all of the green civilians crazy.

Electric cars have gained a lot of environmentalist, eco-friendly fans due to the simple fact that they do not use gasoline or diesal fuel, require little maintanence, are relatively cheap with their fuel quality which is around 60 cents per gallon, and have little direct impact on the environment.

The only downside to the electric car, or most costly, would be the battery. However, there has been speak of companies leasing the batteries to electric car owners so that when their battery dies they can just simply go exchange it for a brand new one. There has even been speculation of charging stations being released almost as an infrastructure of a gas-station concept for the electric car.

Looking to buy an electric car after hearing about how great it is? Unfortunately, there are not many electric car dealers out at this point in time, but there has been an estimated time range between 2009 and 2010 where we expect to find more and more dealerships turning to the electric car to provide the consumer with their needs.
